Annemarie Hillebrecht

Dipl.-Ing. Annemarie Hillebrecht is head of the Technical Center and process engineering at UTH (Germany), a company highly specialized in gear pump technology, fine mesh straining and polymer processing applications. UTH can be seen as a fine example of innovative technology “made in Germany” for over 40 years. After graduating in process engineering at the Technical University of Clausthal (Germany), Hillebrecht built up more than 20 years of polymer technology experience at BASF SE and Goodyear Tires Germany. As a senior expert in mixing, kneader and extrusion technology, she was part of selected international expert committees in both companies.

Revolutionizing tire manufacturing: how continuous milling delivers competitive advantages

Continuous milling is an economical and gentle method for processing technical rubber using two-roll plasticizer (TRP) technology. This process combines cracking, homogenizing and discharging in three zones along the continuous roll. The rubber specialized roll design provides the axial material transport under controlled temperature. The reproducible homogeneity of the material is adjusted by different speeds and frictions. The machine allows an automated process and easy maintenance. The benefits include viscosity reduction, a decrease in energy consumption of up to 50% and less floor space demand. Established in tire production, this technology is adaptable for various rubber processing needs and sustainable materials.
