Tire wear and TRWP experimental techniques
The up-coming tire abrasion regulations and the increasingly challenging sustainability goals call for the development of tires with lower environmental impact. Tire wear (TW) optimization is one of the challenges that the tire industry has to face, with increasingly robust methods to evaluate mileage, wear shape and particle emissions. To achieve this goal, reliable laboratory testing methods are essential to predict the wear that can be observed in real-life conditions and ensure the quality and durability of tires. This presentation will focus on today’s development and state-of-the-art experimental techniques used to measure TW and TRWP.
