Materials, chemicals and related processes – developments and innovations - session 1
Vegetable oils are interesting alternatives to conventional process oils in rubber compounds, from the sustainable aspect as well as performance. In most cases, virgin vegetable oils show high reactivity and high impact on the curing process. As a consequence, the mechanical and dynamic properties of compounds are shifted significantly. Studies show vegetable oils can be chemically modified in different manners. The modifications can reduce the reactivity, increase compatibility and create new functions in the structure, make the oils more adaptable for rubber with more reliable quality and performance. This presentation will present the first results.
- Ideas about new raw materials with special properties. The potential of well-known chemistry
- Structure-performance mechanisam between raw material and final compounds
- Rain Carbon's ability to serve rubber development with sustainable products
