Advanced modeling, simulation, analysis, test and development - session 3
Applus Idiada will describe its comprehensive tire development methodology that begins with a candidate tire CD-Tire modeled through full test sequences investigating performance and structural characteristics. A morphing/resizing technique is then employed to develop variants with different dimensions, significantly reducing development time and costs validating through very short test lists. Virtual assessment in the driving simulator allows understanding of vehicle/tire performance and identification of improvement areas. Applus Idiada translates driver feedback into specific tire KPIs and then into structural-tire-component variations generating same-dimension variants with different performance. This tire development process vinculates vehicle manufacturer targets to tire OEMs to achieve optimal performance, lowering costs.
