Due to the contribution of tire wear to microplastic pollution, understanding and predicting tire wear is of great importance. This study investigates single asperity wear of tire tread compounds. It focuses on the tribological system and understanding the impact of different tire tread compounds. The results of this study highlight the development directions for future protocols characterizing tire wear.
