The recovered carbon black (rCB) sector is entering a new phase of industrial scale-up, with APAC and the EU leading capacity expansion. This presentation will highlight major pyrolysis projects, outlining current plant capacities, expansion timelines and top-performing suppliers delivering consistent quality and secure offtake. It will also address QA/QC challenges for tire manufacturers, including the role of ASTM standards and regulatory updates under REACH, ISCC and End-of-Waste frameworks. On the technical side, rCB and sustainable carbon black (sCB) will be compared with virgin carbon black in semi-reinforcing applications, with emphasis on progress in tread formulations using hybrid rCB+vCB blends.
