Quantitative evaluation of inter-device correlation in tire Flat-Trac testing

04 Mar 2026
Room 4
Advanced modeling, simulation, analysis, test and development - session 2
This study analyzes the correlation of tire force and moment characteristics measured using Flat-Trac systems from tire suppliers, based on Hyundai’s standardized test procedures. Emphasis was placed on parameters related to vehicle handling. Linear regression was applied to derive correlation equations and coefficients of determination (R2) across systems. The goal is to support virtual vehicle development by aligning Magic Formula models – based on Pacejka equations – among suppliers. The results highlight consistent trends and identify equipment-specific deviations, contributing to more quantitative, data-driven vehicle development.
