This presentation shares recent progress from the Tire Industry Project (TIP) on Tire and Road Wear Particles (TRWP) and tire emissions during use. We will highlight new findings from ongoing studies on TRWP generation, environmental fate, and ecotoxicology, including the development of reference samples for research and modelling approaches to predict TRWP transport. The presentation also covers methodologies for assessing tire emissions that can be used in evaluating mitigation scenarios in the use phase. These advances, achieved through fruitful global collaboration, demonstrate how TIP’s science-based work supports informed decision-making and sustainability strategies across the tire industry.
