Materials, chemicals and related processes – developments and innovations - session 2
In response to increasing safety and environmental regulations, the tire industry has intensified its focus on the development of advanced materials that simultaneously demonstrate outstanding performance such as low-wear characteristics, excellent wet grip and low rolling resistance. Recently LG Chem has employed modeling and simulation technology to investigate and design advanced functional solution styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR). A systematic analysis using molecular dynamics(MD) and dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulation from raw materials to compound systems was carried out by LG Chem, with the intention of accelerating innovative insights and next-generation materials by combining these simulation techniques with experimental validation and theoretical background.
- Simulation methodology: molecular dynamics, dissipative particle dynamics
- Design and optimize molecular structures
- Predict tire performance
