Materials, chemicals and related processes – developments and innovations - session 2
Liquid rubbers are polymers with molecular weights ranging from a few thousand to one hundred thousand, composed of isoprene, butadiene and styrene. These polymers are widely used by tire manufacturers to enhance processing and tire performance. This presentation covers the latest study on the effects of functionalized liquid rubbers on tire performance. Kuraray will present the advantages of incorporating functionalized liquid rubbers into natural rubber (NR) and silica formulations, which typically exhibit poor interaction.
- Advantage of silane-functionalized liquid rubbers
- Combination of NR and silica for tires
- Formulation for next-generation TBR or EV tires with sustainability
- Balancing low RR, abrasion and grip performance
- Improving processability
