A high-frequency vibration was observed during a laboratory wear test. The half-wavelength of this vibration was comparable to the size of the wear debris, indicating a causal relationship between the vibration frequency and wear resistance. The change in load indicated that the vibration originated from the natural frequency of the rubber. Consequently, an increase in vibration frequency led to an increase in particle size.
