Materials, chemicals and related processes – developments and innovations - session 2
As environmental regulations tighten in response to global warming, the performance demands on tire materials continue to grow. Beyond optimizing the balance among wear resistance, fuel efficiency and grip, material development must also address recyclability and the circular economy. This study focuses on introducing reversible bonds into the main chain of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). The effects of these reversible bonds on the compound structure and on the mechanical and dynamic properties were evaluated, providing insights into the design of sustainable tire materials.
