Tire and road wear particles (TRWP) are the result of friction between the tire and the road surface, which is essential to secure a safe and comfortable journey. Bridgestone is actively conducting various TRWP research activities to understand the particle size distribution, dispersion behavior and environmental impact, as well as to develop efficient collection methods. Through a newly developed collection method and understanding the dispersion of particles around the tire, Bridgestone collected TRWP at a high recovery rate. The presentation reports the latest update of the method for efficiently collecting TRWP and its characterization.
