Advances in manufacturing, production and inspection - session 2
A BSO process integrated in a wheel TU machine at OEM level with a cycle time of approximately 12 seconds offers a win-win configuration by using the lateral forces to turn the tire bead on the rim edge with the presence of the radial forces from the TU machine enabling a reduction in radial run-out of the wheel. During this process, the TU machine immediately traces the BSO effectiveness and the cycle can be repeated in a close loop until the force-variation threshold is met with the result of an improvement of the 'yield' level with less extending repair.
- Improved tire bead seating on a rim results in lower vibration risks for a car
- A compact unit with a correction process with an interaction with a wheel TU machine which are currently separated
- Fewer tire TU rejections from tire suppliers in a world where stiffer/XL tires are present due to EV car production
- This concept can be integrated in all the TWA assembly plants where TU measurements are a customer requirement
- Increased measuring capability because the wheel does not leave the clamping unit
