Ulrich Giese received his PhD in chemistry in 1988. He started work in rubber ‎research at the German Institute of Rubber Technology (DIK). He is currently managing ‎director at DIK and director of the institute's testing laboratory. Since 2010, Giese has been a ‎distinguished professor at the Leibniz University of Hannover in polymer-/analytical ‎chemistry. He has been the editor of the international Rubber Journal KGK since 2013. ‎Giese has contributed to more than 150 publications and delivered 190 lectures across his career.
