Currently senior technical advisor at Endurica, Mahmoud Assaad is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Akron and a former senior R&D associate at Goodyear. Winner of the 2008 ‘Create The Future’ design contest in the machinery/equipment category, he authored the ‘Composites’ section of The Pneumatic Tire book and has 25 publications, and 70 patents to his name. Building on an MSc in structural engineering (Iowa State University (ISU)) and an MSc in polymer science (University of Akron, Ohio), he completed his PhD in engineering science and mechanics (major) and applied mathematics (minor) at ISU in1983. Assaad was awarded the Diplome d’Ingenieur Civil-Section Travaux Public, Universite’ de Saint-Joseph, Ecole, and Superieure d’Ingenieur, Beirut, Lebanon.
