Hyeonu Heo
assistant professor, department of mechanical engineering,
University of Akron
Dr Hyeonu Heo is an assistant professor in the department of mechanical engineering at the University of Akron. As a mechanical engineer and acoustics expert, he has published over 28 peer-reviewed journal articles and filed three patent applications. Dr Heo is co-inventor of a patented technology that uses acoustic metamaterials to significantly reduce tire-road noise. He earned his PhD from the University of North Texas and completed postdoctoral training at Pennsylvania State University's graduate program in acoustics and the University of North Texas’s department of physics. His research focuses on the design and fabrication of acoustic and elastic metamaterials for noise reduction applications, leveraging advanced 3D and 4D printing techniques.
