Dr Adam McCarthy is secretary general of the Tyres Europe (European Tyre Manufacturers' Association), where he leads the organization's strategy and operations. Tyres Europe represents the views of the tire and rubber industry to European policy-makers. He started his career in the European Commission and later the European Parliament before moving to the private sector where he has worked in government affairs and public policy positions across a range of companies and sectors, mainly focussing on energy, environment and transportation issues.
