Razor-sharp, vivid graphics on dark, non-absorbent surfaces such as rubber or plastic—this is now possible thanks to an innovation from REA Elektronik. Using a newly developed, UV-curable pigmented ink engineered by REA experts, REA JET HR marking systems apply high-resolution, full-color alphanumeric text, logos, lettering, lines, and other graphics.
Color marking with HR cartridge technology offers a modern, efficient, and above all clean alternative to conventional static systems such as stamps or contact-based roller coders. It eliminates the need for cliché changes, requires no maintenance, and each new cartridge also provides a new print unit.
The ink is available in blue, red, green, and yellow, and together with the existing white and black inks enables non-contact digital printing in a wide range of shades. Its innovative pigmentation extends the benefits of REA JET HR systems to marking dark substrates. With printheads delivering outstanding print quality at up to 600 dpi and a resolution adjustable in 16 levels, these systems set a new benchmark for precision.
This application is particularly attractive for the automotive and tire industry, enabling reliable inline marking of elastomer and rubber products such as hoses, seals, mats, and tires. Digital data input supports fast product changeovers as well as customized and serialized marking with variable information such as date, time, counters, shift codes, and database content. Depending on the design, up to four printheads can be combined for multi-color logos and markings, with print heights of up to 50.8 mm.
