Dr. Rohit Ameta has M.Sc., Ph.D. in Chemistry. He has 28 years of experience in various tire industries. He has worked in R&D section of J.K. Tyre and Apollo Tyres. Currently, he is working with Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) as a Head-R&D. He has published 8 papers in International journals and presented papers in various conferences. He has filled 7 Patents in Inida , Europe and US. He is a member of ACS, rubber division and IRI.

Effect of multi-function process aid on NR based silica compounds

In this research, Multi-function process aid in Natural rubber (NR) based Silica compounds are studied. NR is a non-polar rubber in nature whereas silica is the polar material. So, it couldn’t be mixed and dispersed easily in the rubber matrix. To address processing issues, process aid is required. NR has tendency of high reversion during vulcanization at prolonged time, Anti-reversion chemicals are used to protect this high reversion issue. Main function of multi-function process aid is to achieve properties of process aids and anti-reversion chemicals. Processing behavior, dynamic properties & physical properties have been studied and discussed in this paper.
