Frederic Leymin

Frederic Leymin has 23 years of experience with Michelin. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and began his career in R&D, transitioning through Technical Support, Marketing, and later Sales positions. Passionate about technics and innovation, his career spans sectors where product technical performance is key, such as Industrial, Earthmover, and Automotive Original Equipment. In 2022, Frederic joined the Michelin Innovation Lab in the Marketing and sales role, participating in the creation of a new business activity called Michelin SIMIX Engineering. This initiative supports vehicle chassis engineers by offering easy and flexible access to simulation datasets via an online platform.

MICHELIN innovative modeling bricks for efficient virtual design of vehicles, leveraging tire datasets

With its expertise in simulation, Michelin has solutions covering virtual design V-cycle. While maturing processes, our team realized the gap of having a wide package of available virtual components, tires and beyond tires. To overcome these limitations, Michelin has developed an innovative method to provide a great number of qualitative tire datasets, combining physically measured data with physics-based functional models. This allows the creation of tire digital twins on the full usage perimeter, including extreme conditions (e.g. extreme slip angles), aligned with reality. Our tire and vehicle datasets are adapted to popular simulation formats, bringing new experience to the virtual design.
